Hilly Hike

We recently took a hike to the hill at Asan Beach, which was one of the landing sites for the U.S. marines in 1944.

It was quite an adventure for our family.

We passed some of the caves where the Japanese waited in hiding for the U.S. troops.

The hike was quite steep at places, but the children managed to hold on to roots and plants to make it to the top with our help.

Here is a view of the beach from the top.

Joel and I posed at the top.

So did Marisol with Joel and Amelia.

Here is the interior of one of the Japanese caves.

The outside of another cave.

This appears to be some kind of airstrip from the Japanese era.

Relaxing next to the ocean before heading back to the car at the end of the hike.
