Another Munchkin Leaves Us

Image
On April 9, 2010, one of the last handful of surviving Munchkin actors from "The Wizard of Oz" died. Meinhardt Raabe, 94, enjoyed 13 seconds of movie glory as the coroner who pronounced the Wicked Witch of the East "most sincerely dead." We had the privilege of meeting him at the Chittenango NY Ozfest in June 2006.

Presenting the Merrills

We enjoyed a visit from PIU Board Member Howard and his wife Kathy in February. They instantly connected with Joel and Amelia as you can see from the picture. Good friends and good times. We hope to see them during our furlough in the States.

Find Us Faithful

Image
At PIU we have been so blessed to have adopted grandparents for Joel and Amelia. A while back we asked Grandpa Steve and Grandpa Harald to dinner. Both are GODLY men that we have learned much from. It is a gift that we COULD NEVER REPAY! It is our prayer that we will be faithful in our lives as Steve and Harald have been.

Learning about Bugs

In science class we have been learning about bugs. Yesterday we made a clay model. Here is the question of the day. Who is cuter: Joel, Amelia or the bug? You probably already know Daddy's answer: the kids!!!!!!

Back in the Saddle Again

Hi there, I've returned from Chuuk and back to my "old tricks." I'm taking the male graduating seniors out to eat little by little. On Monday night I went to Michelle's Coffee Shop with Hansen, Judson, Hipper and Jeff. We had a lovely time celebrating together. God has been good to give me time with so many wonderful men to befriend and mentor AND learn from. Thanks, God! Before going on to eat, I helped with PIU Work Day (see photos above). Inca, Machinta, Jake, Gloria, Kita and Doug were some of my "coworkers." Don't they look cool. We raked and collected leave. Thanks to all the PIU students for a job well done. Now they have finals and papers due next week. Please pray for them!

Please pray for my family

You have now survived the longest blogless period of "Farnsworth Forum." I sincerely apologize. If I were you, I would have given up long ago on another post. That's why I'm glad I'm not you, because you're back, and so am I. Isn't that wonderful? As of April 4 I'm now a year older sans the wiser part. I am heading to Chuuk, another island, tomorrow for a four-day stint. I'll be helping to give the TOEFL (English) test to prospective PIU students. Please pray for my colleague and fellow traveller Delight as well as for my family in my absence. Thanks much. More to come soon (and I don't mean another three month wait).
