Bathtime Again at the Farnsworths

Image
Tonight Elías and Jacob allowed Daddy to give them a bath, complete with "bubbles."  Elías catches some of the bubbles up in his hand. Smile for the camera. Jacob liked the bubbles but also his toy dinosaur. A face only a father and mother could love!!!!

New MINTS Course

Image
Today we had a new MINTS course, 1 John, taught by Pastor Gerardo from Quito.  The conference lasted from 8 AM until 5 PM. We had 18 participants in the class, a good turnout for us. Eight of them will be taking the class for credit. Please pray for us as we undertake the follow-up classes in the next five weeks to review the reading and writing assignments. Thanks for praying for MINTS seminary.

Tale of a Swim Meet

Image
On Saturday Joel and Amelia participated in a swim meet at the Club Neptuno in Otavalo. The coach selected Amelia to represent the team in the opening exercises. She helped to carry the team flag. Then everyone sang the national anthem. See that smile as she marched past in the parade of teams. Elías gave everyone a round of applause. Amelia competed first in the 25 meter backstroke. She placed third. Joel competed in the 50 meter backstroke. Showing good form, he came in fifth. Next Amelia competed at 25 meter butterfly. Followed by Joel, 50 meter butterfly. Again, Joel placed fifth in his group. The day was also noteworthy for the first time Elías and Jacob chew gum. Jacob accidentally swallowed his.  Oops!  But Elías did well with his new pastime.

The Farnsworth Construction Squad

We are in the process of putting a fence around the flower bed in the back yard to keep the turtle out.  Today all the Farnsworth men were actively engaged in this.  We will post pictures of the finished product.  Stay tuned!

Homeschool Preschool

Marisol has started doing "school" with Jacob and Elías, and they love it.  They even wanted to do it today (Saturday).  Of course, they will learn lots, and they couldn't have a better teacher!!!!!

Orange Tree Report

Image
This week Joel presented his science "Adopt a Tree" poster and report.  We enjoyed it very much, the interesting information, and even more, the orange slices that he offered us as spectators.  One thing I learned: orange trees are evergreens!!!  You can see how much Jacob and Elías loved the presentation and the snacks.

Chilling Out in Cotacachi

After church the other Sunday Marisol's aunt invited us to eat brunch in her restaurant.  All the children enjoyed eating and being there with Marlene and her grandson José Ramiro.
