GO ENGLISH CAMP Day 5

All good things must come to an end.  Friday's English camp began, as usual, with a time of greeting the participants and helpers.

Joel and Amelia led, via video, the theme song in English about the importance of following Jesus down every road in life.

I shared the parable with my ever-faithful friend Monsie.  Unfortunately I had forgotten to plug in my computer and in the middle of the Bible story the battery ran out.  Joel improvised and led a song until I was able to sign back on.  What would we do without our resourceful kids?

Our Liebenzell coworker Faith shared the final portion of the Bible verse: 1 John 4:10.  Each day the children sent their recordings of the verse to the camp's WhatsApp group.  What a joy to hear them say God's words!

Michelle ended the week with a time of teaching family words in English.  She used a PowerPoint of with pictures of her wonderful family.

Then participants could share pictures of their families with the group, telling about family relationships in English.

Joel and Amelia led everyone in a live presentation of the theme song in Spanish.  Here you can observe our Zoom "studio."  It was a week of learning new ways to minister.  Although it did not go perfectly, we pressed on and gained experience for the future.

Elias and Jacob participated each day and enjoyed the time with the other children and helpers.

We gave each helper the opportunity to say good-bye to the kids.  Manuel (from Venezuela) and Maribel (Panama) joined us each day from NJ.  They were on-site in Otavalo in 2018 for the English camp, and it was such a joy to work with them again.

Kary is Marisol's cousin and joined us from the city of Cotacachi, Ecuador.  She and her sons form part of our church in Otavalo.

Amelia helped each day with the songs and choreography.  She will also help with a ZOOM VBS at our mother church in a couple weeks.

Faith spearheaded the Bible verse teaching and presented the idea of teaching a single Bible verse in 5 parts during the camp.  That simplified and made cohesive the Bible presentation each day.

Joel was our go-to person on technology and logistical issues.  He was our "quick thinker" when things did not go as planned, and we thank God for his helper.

At the end it was one final good-bye to all the participants.  I think many of us shed a few tears, and we look forward to what God will continue to do.

With one last teacher meeting GO ENGLISH CAMP finished with a bang.  Thank you, God, for this opportunity and thank you, teachers, for your faithful partnership in this endeavor.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY, GREAT THINGS HE HATH DONE.
