Summer Vacation Commences

Last Friday we celebrated the beginning of summer with our Annual End-of-School Celebration.  This year Joel served as the master of ceremonies.  He interspersed his comments with appropriate quotes from famous people very effectively.  It was a proud moment for Daddy and Mamá.

The program began with Amelia's recitation of Robert Burns' poem "My Heart Is in the Highlands."  Then Jacob shared "The Lamplighter" by Robert Lewis Stevenson.

Elias delighted us with "Wynken, Blynken, and Nod" by Eugene Fields. We watched as Jacob and Elias presented Hebrews 11:1-6.

The program also included special music from Jacob, Amelia, and Elias who serenaded us with "Shout to the Lord" in Spanish.

Elias and I played a piano duet of "Ode to Joy" or "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee" by Beethoven.
We concluded the celebration with nachos, pizza and cheesecake.  Yum!

We thank the Lord for a good school year and look forward to what 2020-21 has in store.
