Remembering GO ENGLISH CAMP 2019

As we enter GO ENGLISH CAMP 2020, we remember English Camp 2019 with the wonderful folks from Exeter Bible Fellowship Church in Birdsboro, PA.

I had the privilege of meeting the team during a quick trip to PA in April last year.  Here they are: Joey, Athena, Carolyn, Steve, Rosie, Zoe and Pastor Stan.  Missing from the picture are Becca and Leah.

Here is the invitation we used for the children.

As with the previous group we spent some wonderful outings together, including Cuicocha and the amazing boat ride.

Some of the best times are spent in fellowship around the table.  Eating, of course!!!

Singing with the kids and the mission teams always blesses my heart.

Our Bible focus last year was Esther.  We adapted my college roommate Phil's book from his delightful Esther musical which debuted at Houghton College in 1987.  In that production I played Hegai the eunoch.  For Ecuador 2019 production I was elected to play Xerxes.  From eunoch to king for the glory of God!  This is a rehearsal shot of Pastor Stan and his wife Rosie as Haaman and Xeresh.  They were born to play these roles, and no, it was not typecasting!!!

Amelia portrayed Sarah, Esther's friend, on Monday before going off to youth camp in Lita.  It was good to have her participate on the first day.

Since the play was performed in English, Marisol provided Spanish narration to help the kids understand more.

All I can say is, ONCE A HAM, ALWAYS A HAM!!!  Haha!

Zoe was delightful in the title role of Esther, my new wife.

The children made crowns one day with materials brought from the US with the group.

The children LOVED the game time each day.

It was a bit rainy that week, and flexibility was required to bring the games indoors one day.

We enjoyed an outing to the Equator monument in Cayambe.

Here is a final picture of Jacob and Elias taken by team member Zoe.  I saved this photo for last because you can see how much joy the EBFC group brought to our family and to the children of Ecuador (black and white photo courtesy of group member Zoe!!!).

Gracias, amigos.
