Muchas gracias por orar por nosotros.  Vamos a empezar esta edición informándoles de cómo Dios les ha contestado las oraciones.

Jacob y Elías cumplieron un año el 28 de enero.  Hemos sobrevivido un año de ser una familia con dos bebés varones.  ¡Gloria a Dios!  Ahora están caminando y necesitamos doble porción de gracia y paciencia.

La mamá de Marisol, Zulema Palacios, se operó del ojo este mes; el médico está muy contento con los resultados de la operación.  Zulema se quedó con nosotros por una semana para poder descansar.  Todos derramamos unas lágrimas cuando llegó el momento en que ella regresó a su casa.

Las clases de Ned sobre el Evangelismo en Quito e Ibarra salieron bien y terminó de enseñar las clases semanales en Ibarra.  Los deberes de los estudiantes incluyen actividades evangelísti  Por favor oren por Fernando, un hombre con quien Ned ha estado testificando.


Marisol está disfrutando salir de la casa un poquito más.  Ella participa en el estudio bíblico que las misioneras de Liebenzell hacen una vez por mes.  Por un buen tiempo no había podido asistir.
Joel y Amelia siguen creciendo y participando en muchas actividades.  Además, nos ayudan mucho a cuidar  a sus hermanitos.  Le damos gracias a Dios por Joel y Amelia.

Por favor sigan orando por la salud del papá de Ned (Glennis).  Le operan el 16 de abril en Virginia para reemplazar una válvula en el corazón.

También al hermano de Marisol, Hugo Bedoya, le operan de un ojo el 30 de abril.

Thanks so much for praying for us.  Let us begin this edition with some praises and answers to prayers.

Jacob and Elías turned one-year-old on January 28, 2013.  We have survived one year of TWINHOOD.  Yahoo, and Praise the Lord!  Now they are walking, so we need an extra measure of grace and patience.

Marisol’s mother Zulema’s underwent cataract surgery; the doctor was extremely pleased with how everything went.  Zulema stayed with us for a week following her surgery so that she could rest.  All of us shed a tear or two when the time arrived for her to return home.

Ned’s seminary classes on Evangelism in Ibarra and Quito went well, and he finished the weekly follow-up classes in Ibarra.  Part of the students’ coursework includes reporting on their evangelistic activities.  Please pray for Fernando, a man who Ned has been witnessing to.

Marisol enjoys being able to get out of the house a bit more.  She participates in the Bible study that the Liebenzell missionary ladies hold once a month.  It had been a while since she had been able to do that.
Joel and Amelia continue to thrive with their activities.  In addition, they bless us so much with their daily help with their younger siblings.  We thank God for Joel and Amelia.

Please continue praying for Ned’s father Glennis’ health.  He will have surgery on April 16 in Virginia to replace a heart valve.

Also, Marisol's brother, Hugo Bedoya, will have eye surgery on April 30.

Goodbye Guam, Alii Palau!

Here is a recap of the final days of our friends Hiob and Leah and their children Micah and Jireh in Guam. They have returned to Palau where Hiob will serve as senior pastor of the Koror Evangelical Church. We all started together at PIBC back in fall 2006 and we have worked together, laughed together, cried together, prayed together, and grown together. Although it is hard to say goodbye, we know that they will be a blessing to the Church in Palau, and we find comfort in the words of the Michael W. Smith song "Friends": friends are friends forever if the Lord's the Lord of them. Amen! We had a BBQ in their honor on campus at the beginning of June before the Thai mission team left. Delight posed with Micah and Hiob during a break from barbecuing. He is a fantastic barbecuer. Notice he's even holding the tongs, to a barbecuer what a hammer is to a carpenter. Amelia says, "Goodbye, Long Hair!"

Amelia finally had her hair cut after six years of no cutting. She likes her new haircut and enjoys combing her own hair for the first time ever. She wants to donate her hair for child cancer patients, and we are pleased that she wants to share with others. Here are some pictures before and after.

GOOD THINGS HAPPENING 3

 A little background to this story.  I have been a fan of The Waltons from the beginning of the series.  In 2017 I attended the 45th anniversary celebration of the show in Schuyler, Virginia, the small hamlet where the series' creator Earl Hamner, Jr., was born and raised.  Perhaps I can share a bit more about that in a future post. During that weekend in March 2017 I met Reen Christie Bula (a/k/a Tammi Bula), who played John-Boy's love interest Marcia Woolery in the early seasons. Here is a shot of Reen and me, As well as a shot of all the cast member in attendance at the reunion with the exception of Michael Learned who went to bed early due to a play appearance the following day. During the weekend Reen, her husband Gordon and I shared time together, and she shared with me her testimony, how she came to the Lord through the witness of friends (she was working as an RN at the time) and how she saw the sign of Pi in the sky one day which prompted her to check out John 3:14-16
