Hello friends in Christ,

Thank you for praying for us.  We really appreciate it.

We are well.  With this message we are sending a photo of our four dear children.  God has been so good to trust us with this grand task of parenthood.  Yes, there are bad nights, but the smiles on their faces helps us to forget the hard part.  Joel and Amelia are growing up to love and serve God.  It is such a joy to see them learn God's Word in Awana Club at our church.  We have a bit more than two weeks to finish school for the year.  Amelia finishes kindergarten and Joel third grade.  Where have the years gone?  Jacob and Elías will be four-months-old soon.  The other day they communicated with each other for the first time, "talking" and laughing together.  Only God can do these things.  Come and visit us and you can see them with your own eyes.  You're always welcome.

In MINTS, currently we are in the course Doctrine of Grace.  We have five students who are taking the course for university credit.  Moving forward with the project to have the academic records for all the courses since 2007 in order, we are making good progress.  Pray that God would give me patience and diligence to complete this project.At RADIO PUNTO, we are in the final preparations for a big event for Friday, May 25.  ENCUENTRO 2012 will bring five Ecuadorian Christian music artists to Ibarra for a night of praise and worship with the goal of blessing God's people as well as raise funds for the future plans of the radio station.  It is our desire to obtain an FM frequency if it is God's will so that we can reach more people with the gospel.  This will require a rather large investment to place the official application in the hands of the government officials.  Please pray for God's will.

Keep praying for the health of our parents, especially for Marisol's mom and Ned's dad.  Zulema Palacios is working with the doctors to regulate her diabetes, and Glennis Farnsworth is trusting the Lord now that his cancer is in remission.  God is in control.

Hola estimados amigos en Cristo,

Gracias por orar por nosotros.  Les agradecemos un montón.

Estamos bien.  Con este mensaje les mandamos una foto de nuestros cuatro queridos hijos.  Dios ha sido tan bueno en encomendar esta gran labor que es ser padre.  Sí, hay malas noches, pero las sonrisas en sus caras nos ayudan a olvidar todo lo difícil.  Joel y Amelia están creciendo para amar y servirle a Dios.  Es tan bonito verles aprender la Palabra de Dios en el club Oansa en la iglesia donde asistimos.  Tenemos un poquito más de dos semanas para terminar la escuela este año.  Amelia termina kindergarten y Joel tercer año.  ¿Adónde se han ido los años?  Jacob y Elías ya mismo cumplen cuatro meses de vida.  El otro día se estaban comunicando por primera vez, "hablando" y riéndose el uno al otro.  Sólo Dios puede hacer estas cosas.  Vengan a vernos y pueden verlo con sus propios ojos.  Siempre están bienvenidos.

En MINTS, estamos en el curso Doctrina de la Gracia ahora.  Hay cinco estudiantes que están siguiendo el curso para obtener crédito universitario.  Seguimos con el proyecto de tener los informes académicos de todos los cursos anteriores (desde 2007) en orden.  Oren que Dios me dé paciencia y diligencia para llevar este proyecto a su final.

En RADIO PUNTO, estamos en los últimos detalles de planificar un evento especial para viernes, 25 de mayo.  ENCUENTRO 2012 traerá a cinco artistas cristianos de diferentes partes de Ecuador a Ibarra para una noche de Alabanza y Adoración con la meta de bendecir al pueblo de Dios y también para levantar fondos para seguir adelante con el ministerio de la emisora.  Queremos conseguir una frecuencia FM si es la voluntad de Dios. Esto implica una fuerte inversión para aplicar oficialmente con el gobierno.  Oren por la voluntad de Dios en todo este asunto.

Sigan orando por la salud de nuestros padres, especialmente por la mamá de Marisol y el papá de Ned.  Zulema Palacios está trabajando con los doctores para regular su diabetes, y Glennis Farnsworth está confiando en el Señor ya que su cáncer está en remisión.  Dios está en control.¡Qué bueno es poder contar con su apoyo y sus oraciones!  Dios les bendiga mucho.

Goodbye Guam, Alii Palau!

Here is a recap of the final days of our friends Hiob and Leah and their children Micah and Jireh in Guam. They have returned to Palau where Hiob will serve as senior pastor of the Koror Evangelical Church. We all started together at PIBC back in fall 2006 and we have worked together, laughed together, cried together, prayed together, and grown together. Although it is hard to say goodbye, we know that they will be a blessing to the Church in Palau, and we find comfort in the words of the Michael W. Smith song "Friends": friends are friends forever if the Lord's the Lord of them. Amen! We had a BBQ in their honor on campus at the beginning of June before the Thai mission team left. Delight posed with Micah and Hiob during a break from barbecuing. He is a fantastic barbecuer. Notice he's even holding the tongs, to a barbecuer what a hammer is to a carpenter. Amelia says, "Goodbye, Long Hair!"

Amelia finally had her hair cut after six years of no cutting. She likes her new haircut and enjoys combing her own hair for the first time ever. She wants to donate her hair for child cancer patients, and we are pleased that she wants to share with others. Here are some pictures before and after.

GOOD THINGS HAPPENING 3

 A little background to this story.  I have been a fan of The Waltons from the beginning of the series.  In 2017 I attended the 45th anniversary celebration of the show in Schuyler, Virginia, the small hamlet where the series' creator Earl Hamner, Jr., was born and raised.  Perhaps I can share a bit more about that in a future post. During that weekend in March 2017 I met Reen Christie Bula (a/k/a Tammi Bula), who played John-Boy's love interest Marcia Woolery in the early seasons. Here is a shot of Reen and me, As well as a shot of all the cast member in attendance at the reunion with the exception of Michael Learned who went to bed early due to a play appearance the following day. During the weekend Reen, her husband Gordon and I shared time together, and she shared with me her testimony, how she came to the Lord through the witness of friends (she was working as an RN at the time) and how she saw the sign of Pi in the sky one day which prompted her to check out John 3:14-16
