Cotacachi Leadership Team Retreat
The first weekend in February marked the time for our second annual retreat for the leadership team of the Cotacachi Amigos en Cristo Church. We descended on Liebenzell Mission's retreat center in Lita on Sunday night.
You can see the beautiful foliage.
Also coconut and tropical fruit trees (banana, papaya, etc.).
We went to plan and organize for 2015 and beyond. Héctor (men's ministry), Marlene (treasurer), Daniel (elder and ushers ministry), Alfonso (elder and discipleship), Surley (children's ministry), Marcelo (worship team) and Maruja (women's ministry) participated. Ramona (youth ministry) was on vacation in Cuba!
It was not all work, though. Everyone had a nice time.
We headed into town for lunch.
Here is a picture of Surley outside the mission's complex in Lita.
This is an actual family dwelling in the town.
I could not resist taking a photo of this house with Direct TV satellite dish. At least this family has their "priorities" straight.
A view of Lita from our restaurant.
We enjoyed fresh chicken soup for lunch, followed by fish, rice and salad.
The caretakers of the mission center, Beti and Jaime, joined us for lunch.
Walking back for our final session.
A final photo before heading back to the "real world." Thanks, Lord, for our time together.
