Farnsworth Family Forum Fall 2012
Greetings
from Ibarra, Ecuador! Thank you so much for your prayers. Especially in these last few weeks we
have seen the answers to specific prayers in our lives. Jacob and Elias had not been sleeping well,
and the past few nights they have been sleeping very well. Home school with Joel and Amelia had been a
particular challenge because our planned helper decided not to come to Ecuador. However, school began running more smoothly
since last week. These may seem like
small details to others, but to us these answers have been HUGE blessings. Please keep praying for us to be good
parents and teachers!
At present
Ned’s father Glennis is cancer free. We
appreciate your prayers. The doctor
detected cataracts in Marisol’s mother Zulema’s eye as well as a problem with
her leg. Both require expensive
surgeries. Please pray for God’s
provision and for Glennis and Zulema’s good health.
The first 7
students from the extension campus of Miami International Seminary that Ned
oversees graduated in September. We are
excited to see the progress of MINTS here in Ibarra. In our current class, Eschatology, we have 22
students. Pray for Ned as he works
with these students and prepares for the classes and grades their assignments,
tests and essays. He also teaches
Missiology every Thursday evening at the CCB Bible Institute and preaches once
a month in Spanish and English at the Amigos en Cristo Church in Cotacachi.
Radio Punto
continues with the plan to obtain a legal FM license. Ned prerecords a 90-minute weekday morning
show (so that he can be present in “two places at the same time” to help
Marisol with home school) and also hosts an hour long evening program. We need to identify new volunteers and
develop additional programming. Keep
praying for Radio Punto.
Joel enjoys
history class and geography and has an incredible memory that keeps Ned hopping. Marisol does an excellent job of teaching
Amelia to read in English and Spanish.
Amelia has a different smile since she lost one of her front teeth. Jacob and Elias are eight months old and want
to crawl and walk soon. Please pray
for the mental sanity of their parents during this process.

desde Ibarra, Ecuador! Muchas gracias
por sus oraciones. Especialmente en
estas últimas semanas, hemos visto unas respuestas específicas a sus oraciones. Jacob y Elías no estaban durmiendo bien y en
las últimas noches han estado durmiendo de maravilla. La escuela en la casa era un desafío muy
fuerte porque la chica que nos iba a ayudar este año decidió no venir al último
momento. Pero desde la semana pasada la
escuela ha funcionado mucho mejor. Tal
vez parezcan detalles muy insignificantes,
pero para nosotros estas respuestas han sido de gran bendición. Sigan orando por nosotros como padres y
maestros.
Actualmente
el papá de Ned, Glennis Farnsworth, se encuentra libre de cáncer. Apreciamos todas las oraciones. El médico le detectó a la mamá de Marisol,
Zulema Palacios, cataratas en el ojo y también un problema en la pierna. Las dos condiciones requieren cirugía. Oren por la provisión de Dios y por buena
salud para Glennis y Zulema.
Los
primeros siete estudiantes de MINTS (Miami International Seminary) en Ibarra se
graduaron en septiembre. Ned sirve como coordinador
de MINTS en Ibarra. Estamos muy
emocionados al ver crecer el ministerio de MINTS. Tenemos a 22 estudiantes en nuestro curso
actual, Escatalogía. Oren por Ned
mientras él ayuda a los estudiantes, se prepara para las clases y califica los
cuestionarios, exámenes y ensayos.
Además, él enseña Misiología cada jueves en el Centro de Capacitación
Bíblica y predica un domingo por mes en español e inglés en la Iglesia Amigos
en Cristo en Cotacachi.
Radio
Punto sigue con el plan de conseguir una frecuencia en FM. Ned hace pregrabaciones de su programa
matutino de 90 minutos para poder estar “en dos lugares a la vez” y ayudar a
Marisol con la escuela en la casa. El
también es anfitrión de un programa de 60 minutos por la noche. Estamos buscando a nuevos colaboradores para
desarrollar nueva programación. Sigan
orando por Radio Punto.
A
Joel le encanta la clase de historia y geografía y tiene una memoria increíble
que le mantiene a Ned muy alerta.
Marisol hace un trabajo excelente de enseñarle a Amelia a leer en inglés
y español. Amelia tiene una sonrisa diferente ya que se
le cayó uno de sus dientes de adelante.
Jacob y Elías tienen casi nueve meses y quieren gatear y caminar. Por favor oren por la salud mental de sus
padres durante este proceso.
